Unlock your creativity by joining this weekly tutored class, perfect for beginners and art enthusiasts of all skill levels. If you are a beginner, you’ll start with the fundamentals and receive step-by-step guidance on essential drawing techniques, including placement, measuring, perspective, shading, colouring, and more. If you are more experienced, you will focus on what you need most.

Each session features timed warm-up drills and multiple drawing tasks. You will draw a different still life subject each week, and occasionally challenge yourself with life drawing sessions, with expert guidance tailored to your skill level. You will explore various styles, techniques, and materials, from pencil and graphite to charcoal, ink, oil, soft pastels, and acrylics. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your style alongside other participants through constructive group feedback and reflection chats at the end of each session. Ultimately, you will learn to draw quickly and accurately, embracing method, artistic flow, and freedom. With regular practice and expert guidance, everyone can improve their drawing skills — why not you?

Our two-hour sessions are held weekly in the heated small hall of the Great Western Community Centre, where free parking and disabled access are available. The sessions take place with soft music to enhance a relaxed and focused experience for everyone. You don’t need to bring any materials; all supplies and equipment are provided. You can start anytime within the month or year and pay monthly for your sessions.
